Highly Commended at the AIS Contractors Awards 2005 for Specialist Joinery, this project involved Dry Linings, Metal Stud Partitions and Suspended Ceilings. Along with the design and construction of an egg shaped lecture Pod using a structural steel frame, timber secondary frame, and plywood lining, finished with a Sto render.Comments from the judges were: “Classic Excel must be congratulated for taking on this most challenging project. Although the joinery element is not actually visible, the judges could admire the tenacity, perseverance and skill which must have gone into the design and production of this fantastic lecture pod.”
