Looking Back - Looking Forward

The company was established in 1983 under the original name of Classic Ceilings Limited. Initially the company concentrated on suspended ceilings installation, however by capitalising on the expertise and skills of our growing workforce, the company soon began to install partitions and provide other specialist services such as dry lining and fire protection work. In recent years the company further diversified its services to include acoustic rendering, structural steel framing, specialist joinery and demountable partitioning. In 2004 the company changed its name to Classic Excel Limited.

Classic Excel Limited is committed to providing quality work at competitive prices within programme and budget. We do this by investing in our relationships with customers and supply chain partners, and providing real training and development opportunities to all staff - this was demonstrated by Classic Excel Ltd being the first interior contactor in the north east to achieve Investors in People in May 2003, an award that we went on to re-achieve in 2007.

In the twenty-five years Classic Excel has been in existence we have installed ceilings, partitions and other specialist systems for many local, national and international construction firms throughout the UK and also further a field in Europe.

Not only is it a key priority for the Directors of Classic Excel that the company remains at the forefront of the Interior Specialist Industry but we are also committed to improving the industry for all those involved. This commitment is demonstrated by our Managing Director's role as President of the Association of Interior Specialists (AIS).

Through membership of the AIS, and subsidiary bodies such as the National Specialist Construction Council (NSCC) we can keep informed of national initiatives in the Construction Industry so that we can exploit business opportunities and share good practice wherever possible. The Fair Payment Campaign is a good example of this.

Health and Safety for any company is a huge responsibility. We ensure that our house is in order by being accredited in CHAS in 2006, and then re-accredited in 2007. We are also registered for the Construction Accredited Partner Scheme (CAPS). Finally, Priory Safety Services performs bi annual health and safety audits to ensure we conform to our actual Health and Safety procedures.
